Der Regierungsrat hat Christoph Zemp, dipl. Ing. ETH/SIA, zum neuen Chef des Amts für Abfall, Wasser, Energie und Luft AWEL ernannt. Er wird seine Stelle am 1. September 2015 antreten und seinen in den Ruhestand tretenden Vorgänger Jürg Suter ablösen.
Seit 2008 führt Christoph Zemp als Betriebsleiter beziehungsweise Geschäftsbereichsleiter die Kehrichtheizkraftwerke der Stadt Zürich mit rund 120 Mitarbeitenden. 2012 übernahm er zusätzlich als Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung von Entsorgung + Recycling Zürich die Verantwortung für die Fernwärme.
Dr. Jürg Suter tritt nach fast 15 Jahren als Amtschef AWEL und insgesamt mehr als 32 Dienstjahren beim Kanton Zürich per 31. August 2015 in den Ruhestand.
